Whole Wheat Cheddar Biscuits
My first experience with cheddar biscuits came from Red Lobster. I don't live near one and I don't even remember where the Red Lobster I went to was. I remember sitting there with my uncle and dad and wolfing down the biscuits before I even got to the meal.
I have never looked up the nutrition information on Red Lobster's biscuits, but I can only imagine. This version is surprisingly guiltless and absolutely delicious.

Adapted from About.com
Makes 12 servings, serving size 1 biscuit
Ingredients:
Biscuits
1 cup white whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons butter (I use Smart Balance)
1/2 cup fat free milk, plus a couple teaspoons if needed
1/2 cup 2% sharp cheddar cheese
Topping:
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F
2. Mix flour, baking powder, garlic powder, sugar and salt in a bowl; cut in the butter; add cheese and mix; add milk and stir until moistened, adding milk by the teaspoon if necessary.
3. Knead dough gently with your hands 8 -10 times; on a lightly floured surface roll out the dough to 3/4 inch thickness; using a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter, cut out the dough and place onto a baking sheet; bake 10 minutes.
4. Combine topping ingredients in a small pot and heat until butter is melted; when biscuits are done baking, brush onto the tops; place back in oven for 2-3 minutes.
